Rollin’ south
Mischa Pringle is killin’ it right now.
He moved to New Zealand and is photographing top to bottom of the land of the long white cloud as he cycles trail after trail through the forest and chases Lord of the Rings sets.
Epic damp tree scenes, barren screes of rock, and lonely-looking townscapes are all featuring heavily. I love this.
I also love that his move overseas seems to have given Mish a real creativity and productivity boost. He’s a great photographer who hasn’t been shooting as much as he could have been over the last few years and it’s excellent seeing him shooting a whole bunch.

these are great. had a look at the blog, there is so much amazing detail in all of the photographs. the style escpecially suits the varied terrain of new zealand. what were the photo shot with?
I really like the shots too, Dave. Beautifully composed and striking a balance between wide open shots and detailed foregrounds.
I think they’re shot on an XA2, but Mischa might be able to confirm that for me? Last time I talked film with him he was shooting a bunch of Kodak slide film, but I’m not sure what film stock he is using for these pics.
